Porto Seguro, no extremo-sul da Bahia, não é apenas a terra do “descobrimento”, mas também o município em que os taxistas acham que os turistas são idiotas.
Pelas bandas de lá, não existe taxímetro. Quem precisa de um táxi vira refém da tabela. Ou melhor, da esperteza de um grupo que decidiu que o passageiro deve pagar pelo parece ser.
Se o passageiro for um gringo, paga o valor mais alto, o “top de linha” (R$ 20,00), para fazer um percurso de 400 metros. Se ele não vem do exterior, é de outro estado brasileiro, a corrida é “intermediária”, no valor de R$ 17,00.
A tarifa varia ainda de acordo com a aparência física do passageiro e valor que a pousada ou hotel em que ele vai ficar cobra pela hospedagem.
Tive sorte, pois minha cara de quebrado contribuiu para que eu pagasse “só” R$ 14,00 da rodoviária até um hotel no centro histórico, um percurso de menos de 400 metros.
Comentei o absurdo com alguns hóspedes, e minha surpresa foi ainda maior. Um contou que teve que desembolsar R$ 15,00 e outro pagou nada menos que R$ 17,00 pelo mesmo trajeto que fiz antes de saber que estava sendo assaltado.
Comentei com eles que em Itabuna, pelo mesmo percurso, eu pagaria, no máximo, R$ 6. Outro lembrou que nem em cidades como Rio de Janeiro há esse tipo de absurdo.
Chamar polícia para registrar um boletim de ocorrência, nem pensar. O contratante do serviço sem taxímetro, mas com tabela, pode sair direto para o xilindró, diziam meus avôs. É que o assalto é legalizado, praticado com autorização da prefeitura.
O amado leitor (a) deve estar se perguntando por que não denunciar o caso à Justiça. Fui informado que há mais de um ano um grupo de turistas ingressou com ação contra ilegalidade, mas o processo não saiu da estaca zero. E olhe que entre os denunciantes estavam advogados e juízes que se sentiram lesados.
Portanto, quem for a Porto Seguro passar férias e precisar de transporte, é melhor alugar um veículo do que ser assaltado. Os motoboys também não são bem recomendados. A filosofia de boa parte deles é parecida com os taxistas.
Ah, uma exceção no meio dos espertos é um senhor de prenome Miro. Pelo percurso que tive que desembolsar R$ 14, ele cobra R$ 10. Mas não fiquem alegres. O homem está trocando a cidade do extremo-sul por São Paulo.
